Should Punxsutawney Phil bet on the Steelers?

With all the crazy things happening in the world right now (the cyclone in Australia, the uprising in Egypt, and the “monster” winter storm we’re experiencing) I’m happy to report we did actually receive some good news yesterday. In case you missed it, according to Punxsutawney Phil, who apparently DIDN’T see his shadow, Spring is supposed to come early this year! Upon hearing this I posted the following update to our Morningside College Facebook page.

Yesterday afternoon I stumbled across a Facebook post from one of my old High School friends. The guy has always had a great sense of humor, and I just had to share it with you. :)

Being that Punxsutawney Phil is only accurate with his weather forecasts 39% of the time, I’m guessing if he found himself in the predicament of having to pick the Superbowl Champion… he probably wouldn’t fare too well with that either. If Phil came to you and asked you for your advice, what would you tell him? Should he go with his home state – Pittsburgh Steelers, or take his chances with the Green Bay Packers?

Next week I’ll share the results from the poll with you. I hope everyone has a great rest of the week, and enjoys the Superbowl on Sunday. It should be a great game. To be honest, I really don’t care what the outcome is… I’m just hoping the commercials are better than they’ve been in recent years. I miss the good ol’ days of the Budweiser Frogs.
