Two talented men; one famous name – Ted Williams

Ted Williams the way I'd like to remember him... hitting home-runs and still in one piece. :)

You’ve probably all heard the story of “The Man with the Golden Voice” by now, but in case you haven’t I strongly encourage you to check out the video below. Basically, another video on YouTube recently helped another person, this time a homeless man named Ted Williams (not to be confused with THE Ted Williams, one of the all-time greatest hitters in baseball, whose head, sadly, remains frozen in some cryogenics lab somewhere) share his talent/gift with the world, and overnight make him a worldwide sensation. More importantly though, it helped bring him out of poverty and re-connect him with his mother. It’s truly a touching story about how a person should keep the faith and never give up no matter what the odds are against him/her. Again, if you have time I highly recommend this video and I’m sure you’ll enjoy it. My favorite part is the way he announces, “Now batting for the Boston Red Sox, number 9, Ted Williams” at the end of the video.

Speaking of people who are talented and gifted…
We have our own extremely talented and gifted students here at Morningside. Some of them participate on our athletic teams, others create art, play an instrument, or sing in our college choir. Today though I’d like to share with you those who are gifted academically and through their hard work and dedication received a 4.0 GPA last semester. To see who accomplished this amazing feat please visit the following link. There you’ll find ALL 105 of them! – Morningside College announces students with 4.0 GPAs for fall semester. You may also view all the students who made our Dean’s List for the fall 2010 semester by earning at least a 3.67 GPA.

Finally, congrats to all our students who made our Dean’s list last semester, and to those who received a 4.0 last semester. If you enjoyed this post please share it with others using the share buttons I recently added to my blog below. Thanks for reading. Take care and have a great weekend!

Sincerely,
